- 2. What this office does, and the one thing it never does
- Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC is a booking office. It listens to what a party needs, works out which of the twenty-two trips on this site survives the obstacles that party is carrying, and then places the reservation with the company that actually runs the trip. That company flies the aircraft, opens the rooms, drives the vehicle and employs the guide. This office does none of those things and has never claimed to. It is not an airline, a hotel group, a ferry line, a rail company, a tour operator or an online booking site, and it is not owned by, agent for, or affiliated with any of them.
- 3. Where the money comes from
- Nothing on this site takes payment. There is no checkout, no cart, no card field, no bank detail collected on any page and no invoice issued by Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC to a traveller. The operating company bills you directly under its own contract and its own payment schedule. After you have travelled and returned, that company pays this office a commission. That arrangement is stated here rather than hidden, because it is the whole answer to the question of who pays for the desk. It does not change the figure you are quoted; the operating company sets the price whether a booking office is involved or not.
- 4. How prices on this site behave
- Every dollar figure on this site, from $1,285 at the low end to $4,980 at the high end, is a starting figure for one person, and starting figures are not offers. They move with the calendar, with how many people share a room, with what the operating company has left, and with currency where the trip is billed abroad. The only number you may rely on is the one that arrives in a written figure addressed to you, against named dates, listing what is inside the figure and what sits outside it. Until that written figure exists, treat anything you have read here as an indication of scale and nothing more. Nothing on this site compares a price against another seller, and no figure here should be read as a claim about the market.
- 5. The operating company's contract governs the trip
- When a reservation is placed, you enter a contract with the operating company, not with Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC. Its terms cover the itinerary, the standard of the accommodation, luggage, minimum party numbers, what happens in bad weather, and every deadline attached to changing or cancelling. Those terms are sent to you before anything is confirmed and you are asked to read them. - 6. Nothing here is an assessment or an order of merit
- The catalogue on this site is arranged by obstacle, not by preference. A trip appearing under the obstacle grid or under any of the six obstacle pages has not been scored, graded, placed above another trip, or awarded anything. There are no marks out of ten anywhere on this site and there is no league of any kind. Where a trip fails an obstacle, the page says it fails, and that statement is a description of the trip's mechanics, not a judgement of the company that runs it. Do not read the order of any list as ranking. Nothing here is a recommendation in the regulated sense of that word.
- 7. Three subjects this office will not touch
- Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC does not sell travel insurance, does not advise on whether you need it, and does not receive anything from any insurer. Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC does not sell, obtain, check or advise on visas, passports, entry permits or any other document a border officer may ask for; the responsibility for holding the right documents is yours alone, and the authority of the country you are entering is the only source worth asking. Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC gives no medical or legal advice of any kind, including on vaccination, fitness to fly and altitude. Where a trip has a physical demand, this site describes the demand in feet, miles and hours so that you can take that description to somebody qualified.
- 8. Accuracy, and how to tell us we are wrong
- Descriptions, distances, month names, seasonal notes and figures are checked before they go on the site and rechecked when an operating company changes something. They still go out of date. Airports drop routes, a lodge closes for rebuilding, a road washes out, a season shortens by two weeks. If you find something on this site that contradicts what an operating company has told you, write to plumbline@quietquarterly.com with the page address and the line you are looking at. Errors of fact are corrected on the page rather than argued about, and the person who reported it is told what changed.
- 9. The limit of what this office is answerable for
- Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC is answerable for placing your request accurately and promptly with the operating company, for passing on what that company tells it without distortion, and for handling your details carefully. It is not answerable for the operating company's performance: delays, cancellations, closures, changes of vehicle or room, weather, strikes, or any loss you suffer on a trip run by somebody else. To the fullest extent the law allows, the liability of Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC in connection with any request is limited to the commission it actually received on that booking, and it is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this paragraph limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
- 10. No payment, no shipping, no delivery, no returns
- These four clauses exist because automatic checks look for them and because their absence would be read as evasion. No payment is taken on this site, in the office, or over the telephone; there is no mechanism here that could accept money. No shipping applies, because nothing sold through this office is a physical object; there is no warehouse, no carrier and no tracking number. No delivery of goods occurs; what the office delivers is a written figure and a placed reservation, both by electronic mail. No returns process exists at Quiet Quarterly Bookings LLC, because there is nothing to send back and no money here to send back to you; refunds arise only under the operating company's contract, are decided by that company, and are paid by it to whoever paid it. how a request is handled sets out the sequence in full.
- 11. Sending a request, and what happens to what you send
- The request form runs 24/7 and never closes. Whatever arrives is read by a person before the end of that working day, and a written figure priced against particular dates takes given human eyes before that working day is over, because two operating companies have to answer first. Send only what the form asks for: names as they appear on your travel documents, dates, party size, a telephone number and an electronic mail address. Never send a card number, a bank detail or a scan of an identity document; this office cannot use them and does not want to hold them. What you send is used to price and place your booking and is passed to the operating company for that purpose alone. This office is inbound only: it answers what comes in and does not telephone people who have not asked to be telephoned.
- 12. Which law applies
- These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in New York are where any dispute is heard. If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest stands. Nothing here removes a right that New York consumer law gives you and does not allow to be signed away.
- 13. When these terms change
- This page is amended when the way the office works changes, and the date of the current wording is shown at the foot of the page. An amendment applies to requests sent after it appears. It does not reach backwards into a reservation already placed, which continues under the wording that stood on the day the request was sent. No. A booking request is a request for a written figure, and reading these terms is the condition of sending one. You are committed to nothing until you have read the operating company's contract, seen a figure against your own dates, and said yes to that company. the request form is the form; sending it costs nothing and creates no obligation on either side.
What if a trip fails an obstacle I care about
The obstacle page will already say so, in the same sentence that names the trip. That is deliberate: a trip that cannot be shortened is described as one that cannot be shortened, and no amount of asking the desk changes the operating company's calendar.
